El Ron Prohibido Solera 22 Ron Reserva AÑEJO is an exceptional rum from Mexico, with an alcohol content of 40 per cent, available in a 0.7-litre bottle, which is matured using the traditional Solera method. For this special bottling, the distillates are aged for up to 22 years in American white oak casks, allowing them to develop their exceptional depth and complexity. El Ron Prohibido is characterised by its combination of historic Mexican rum tradition with innovative ageing methods. Some of the casks are additionally enhanced with almond shells, pecan shells, peaches and guarapo (fresh sugarcane juice). This creates a distinctive flavour profile that clearly sets it apart from classic Solera rums and gives the rum its elegant balance of fruit, spices and toasted notes.
