Description
Etsu Gin, which means ‘pleasure’ in Japanese, is the name of an exceptional gin from Japan, produced on the island of Hokkaido according to a closely guarded recipe. Hokkaido, the northernmost of Japan’s main islands, is best known for its natural beauty, featuring volcanoes, hot springs and ski resorts.
Etsu Handcrafted Gin impresses not only with its flavour but also visually, thanks to its presentation in a round bottle with a blue cap and a richly detailed label depicting a geisha in blue and gold. This gin is produced using a selection of Asian botanicals, including pepper, tea, citrus fruits and berries, all of which originate from Hokkaido Prefecture.
A key feature of the gin is the use of yuzu, a yellow citrus fruit that defines its characteristic flavour. Yuzu, known for its tart, aromatic flesh and the essential oils in its peel, is used both in the perfume industry and in fine Japanese cuisine, particularly due to its more complex aroma compared to conventional lemons.
Through the careful selection and combination of traditional Japanese ingredients with the art of artisanal distillation, Etsu Gin offers a unique taste experience that is appreciated by enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike.
