The Dictador BEST OF 1977 ALTISIMO Colombian Rum 40YO is an outstanding premium rum that impresses with its exceptional ageing and hand-selected casks. Distilled in 1977, this fine spirit has matured for over four decades in exclusive oak casks, giving it unrivalled depth and complexity. Colombia’s tropical climate fosters a particularly intense and multifaceted development of aromas, which are reflected in this exquisite rum.

Dictador’s BEST OF series comprises strictly limited single-cask bottlings that showcase the very best of decades of ageing. The ALTISIMO 1977 reveals an elegant interplay of sweet, spicy and woody notes. With an alcohol content of 48% vol., it is powerful and intense, yet wonderfully balanced. The flavours range from dark chocolate and caramelised nuts to subtle hints of vanilla and tobacco.

“All our rums are rums. In 2016 we had an issue with the Colombian authorities and there was a small batch of ‘Best of’ rums where we had to add the phrase ‘Spirit Drink’ to the back label. It was purely incidental. I hope this won’t be a major problem for you.” – Dictador

“As informed by the production team, in the past we used a different glass supplier and the bottle had a much thinner base, hence this visual effect in some of our bottles. Feel free to open one bottle at our expense and check it.” – Dictador
