The Dictador BEST OF 1978 APASIONADO Colombian Rum 40YO/211217/EX-P142 is an exceptional 40-year-old rum rarity from Colombia, with an alcohol content of 41 per cent, in a 0.7-litre bottle. This bottling forms part of the exclusive Dictador Best of Collection, for which particularly old and carefully selected rum reserves have been chosen from the Colombian distiller’s stocks. The focus is on the 1978 vintage, whilst the individual designation 40YO/211217/EX-P142 uniquely identifies this specific bottling within the extensive collection. The designation ‘APASIONADO’ denotes a distinct selection within the Best of series and sets this rarity apart from the Extremo and Altisimo editions.

With a stated age of 40 years, the Dictador Best of 1978 Apasionado ranks among the distillery’s particularly long-aged bottlings. Decades of maturation form the basis for a complex character characterised by ripe fruit, toasty and woody notes. At 41 % ABV, this aged Colombian rum is presented at a comparatively moderate strength. Above all, the combination of the 1978 vintage, the 40-year age statement and the specific reference EX-P142 lends this bottling a distinct collector’s appeal. As such, this rare Dictador Colombian Rum is aimed in particular at connoisseurs of historic vintage rums, collectors of the ‘Best of Collection’ range and enthusiasts of exceptionally old premium rums.
