Description
Description
Cork, situated on the southern coast of Ireland, is home to the picturesque town of Skibbereen, through which the River Ilen flows. This region is renowned for its scenic beauty and cultural significance, particularly in the tradition of whisky-making. In 2007, three friends founded the West Cork Distillery in Skibbereen. This small, independent distillery is renowned for producing high-quality whiskies, crafted with great care and artisanal skill.
From the very beginning, the founders focused on quality and tradition, combined with an innovative approach. The West Cork Distillery uses crystal-clear spring water and carefully selected grains. This commitment reflects the spirit of innovation and craftsmanship that characterise the Irish whiskey industry.
The Bog Oak Charred Cask Irish Whiskey is aged for five years in ex-Bodega sherry casks before being finished for six months in new charred American oak casks. These are charred using bog oak from the forests of Glengarriff.
