The Kavalan SOLIST Oloroso Sherry Cask Single Malt Whisky is a particularly intense single cask bottling from Taiwan, which highlights the influence of a selected Oloroso sherry cask. The Kavalan Whisky is produced by the Kavalan Distillery in Yilan, where the subtropical climate ensures a particularly intense interaction between the distillate and the oak cask. For the SOLIST Oloroso Sherry Cask range, selected whiskies are matured entirely in Oloroso sherry casks and then bottled individually. Unlike a sherry finish, this is therefore not merely a short period of secondary maturation. Each bottling comes from a single cask, which means that the alcohol content, cask number and number of bottles may vary between the different SOLIST bottlings.

This variant is bottled at a robust 59.4% in cask strength, thus combining single cask and cask strength. Kavalan does not use a standardised drinking strength for the SOLIST series, ensuring that the individual character of each Oloroso sherry cask is preserved. Furthermore, the whisky is not chill-filtered and is presented in its natural colour. The combination of tropical maturation in Taiwan, a selected Oloroso sherry cask and unadulterated cask strength is one of the defining characteristics of this internationally renowned Kavalan series.
