In the late 1990s, a group of friends had an ambitious plan to establish the first whisky distillery in Wales for over a century. Their aim was to create a whisky as pure and precious as Welsh gold. In 2004, on St David’s Day, this dream became a reality when Penderyn Whisky first saw the light of day. The distillery owes its uniqueness, amongst other things, to the copper still designed by Dr David Faraday, which features a special pot still. It is situated in the village of Penderyn, at the southern end of the Brecon Beacons. The pure spring water from the region plays a key role in the quality of the exceptional Penderyn whiskies.

Penderyn PEATED Single Malt Welsh Whisky adds a special touch to the Welsh distillery’s range. This lightly peated whisky combines Welsh tradition with influences from the Scottish Highlands and Islay. Matured in ex-bourbon and ex-Scotch casks, the Penderyn PEATED develops a harmonious balance between sweet and smoky notes.

This kosher bottling demonstrates how skilfully Penderyn pushes the boundaries of Welsh whisky production whilst retaining its characteristically elegant style.
