Hinotori 5 Years Old Blended Japanese Whisky is a carefully crafted limited edition released to mark the 70th anniversary of the small Japanese distillery Hinotori, founded in 1949. ‘Hinotori’ means ‘Phönix’ in Japanese, a symbol that features on both the label and the elegantly designed gift box, symbolising the rebirth and purity of this exquisite whisky.

This special blend combines carefully selected grain and malt whiskies, which are matured for five years in re-used Mizunara oak casks. This method of maturation imparts the whisky with its unique, subtle woody notes and a complex bouquet. Mizunara oak is renowned for its ability to impart gentle spicy notes and a hint of sandalwood. Furthermore, this whisky is bottled without chill filtration and without the addition of colourings, in order to preserve the natural character and purity of the final product.
