Barceló Imperial Ron Dominicano is regarded as the flagship product of Ron Barceló and embodies maturity, elegance and decades of rum-making tradition from the Dominican Republic. Only very old rum distillates are used for this premium bottling; these are aged for at least seven years in carefully selected oak casks. The labour-intensive production process begins with the processing of the finest sugar cane, the juice of which is fermented, distilled and then gently refined to ensure purity and aromatic depth. Maturation in American oak casks lends the rum its intense colour as well as subtly integrated notes of wood and vanilla, before the Master Blender combines the individual components to create a balanced overall profile.
