Description
La Quintinye Vermouth Royal Rouge 16.5% ABV, 0.75 l, is part of Jean-Sébastien Robicquet’s premium vermouth collection, created as a tribute to Jean-Baptiste de La Quintinye, King Ludwig XIV’s landscape architect. Each bottle bears the Fleur de Lys, the symbol of the French monarchy, thereby highlighting its historical connection to the Palace of Versailles. The vermouths are based on a combination of wines and Pineau des Charentes, a regional speciality made from unfermented grape must and Eau-de-vie de Cognac from the IGP Charentais region. The Rouge variant is composed of a complex blend of 28 herbs and spices, including not only wormwood but also vine blossoms and a variety of aromatic botanicals. This vermouth is then aged for eight months in French oak barrels, giving it additional depth, structure and harmonious richness.
This meticulous composition makes Vermouth Royal Rouge an intense, aromatically complex example of the French vermouth tradition. It combines classic bitter and herbal notes with pronounced fruity depth, making it ideal both for enjoying neat and for use in high-quality cocktail creations in the modern bar scene. Its stylistic clarity, aromatic diversity and elegant barrel ageing lend it a distinctive character, making it a versatile companion for aperitif-style occasions, mixology and gastronomic concepts.
