Description
Description
Some of the ingredients in the Aurum liqueur recipe are said to date back to ancient Rome, which led D’Annunzio to suggest a Latin name.
The liqueur’s final name, ‘Aurum’, is derived from its golden colour and the use of fruit infusions, particularly oranges (‘aurantium’).
Aurum Golden Orange Liqueur combines an aged Italian brandy with a citrus distillate. The brandy base of the liqueur was aged for around 8 years before being enriched with sun-ripened orange peel, selected herbs and saffron. Subsequent ageing in oak barrels gives the liqueur its characteristic golden colour.
The original recipe for Aurum Golden Orange Liqueur dates back to Luigi d’Amico, who developed it in 1850 in the Abruzzo region of Italy.
Since then, this exquisite blend has been one of the region’s signature sweet spirits.
