Etsu Gin, which means ‘pleasure’ in Japanese, is the name of an exceptional gin from Japan, produced on the island of Hokkaido according to a closely guarded recipe. Hokkaido, the northernmost of Japan’s main islands, is best known for its natural beauty, featuring volcanoes, hot springs and ski resorts.

Etsu Double Orange Limited Edition is produced at the Akita Distillery in Akita Prefecture, located on the island of Honshu, Japan. The gin’s production involves a seven-day maceration with a selection of traditional botanicals, including Japanese bitter orange, juniper berries, liquorice root, angelica and coriander. After maceration, the gin is distilled, during which the solid components are removed to release the essential oils. Finally, fresh water from the surrounding mountains is added, giving the gin its fresh flavour.
