It is produced using selected Port wines from the house’s extensive reserves, which have been aged for many years in traditional oak casks with a capacity of around 630 litres. During this long period of cask ageing, the wine develops its characteristic tawny colour as well as the complex aromas that make this style so sought-after. Maturation takes place in the famous Taylor’s Lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia on Portugal’s Atlantic coast, where constant temperatures and optimal conditions ensure a slow development. Compared to the 10-Year-Old Tawny, the 20-Year-Old Tawny Port displays significantly greater maturity, more intense nutty aromas and even greater aromatic depth. The result is a consummate dessert and fine-drinking wine that is ready to serve immediately after opening and does not require decanting.
