The rum takes its name from a legendary sailing ship, the Kirk and Sweeney, which served as a rum smuggling vessel between the Caribbean and the north-east of the USA during the early years of Prohibition. The bottle features a graphic illustration of the smuggling routes the ship travelled during this exciting period.

Handcrafted in the Dominican Republic, this rum is made from high-quality sugar cane that is harvested by hand. The sugar cane is then converted into blackstrap molasses, which is fermented and distilled to achieve a pure and intense flavour.

Ageing in American oak casks lends the rum a pleasant woody note and ensures a perfect balance of sweetness, spice and oak. The rum complies with the strict regulations required for it to be recognised as ‘Dominican Rum’, which underlines its authenticity and quality.
