Description
Knob Creek 9 Years Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky is a full-bodied Kentucky Straight Bourbon from the USA, bottled at 50 per cent in a 0.7-litre bottle. Knob Creek is part of Jim Beam’s long-established Small Batch Bourbon Collection and is one of the best-known bottlings in this range. The brand is named after Knob Creek, a stream in Kentucky. A classic, maize-dominated grain blend is used for this bourbon. After distillation, the whisky spends nine years in new, charred American oak casks. This means its maturation period is significantly longer than the legal minimum requirement for Straight Bourbon, giving the spirit ample time to interact intensively with the cask wood.
At 50 per cent ABV or 100 proof, the Knob Creek 9 Year Old Bourbon is deliberately stronger than many classic bourbon bottlings with a lower alcohol content. The combination of nine years’ cask ageing, high bottling strength and small-batch character results in a full-bodied Kentucky bourbon with a pronounced structure. Knob Creek was established as part of the Small Batch Bourbon Collection to represent a robust, traditionally styled bourbon. The 0.7 l bottle of Knob Creek 9 Years is therefore particularly suited to bourbon enthusiasts seeking a 100 Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey with a clear age statement and intense oak character.
