Kavalan DISTILLERY SELECT Single Malt Whisky No. 1 is a Taiwanese single malt whisky, 40 per cent ABV, in a 0.7-litre bottle, complete with a gift box. It is produced by the renowned Kavalan Distillery in Yilan, in north-eastern Taiwan. A key feature of the distillery is Yilan’s subtropical climate, which significantly influences the whisky’s maturation and facilitates an intense exchange between the distillate and the cask. For the Distillery Select No. 1, Kavalan uses selected refill casks, in which the whisky develops into a well-balanced expression of the characteristic Kavalan style. The bottling places particular emphasis on the smooth and fruity character of the Taiwanese distillery.


Visually, too, the Kavalan Distillery Select No. 1 is highly recognisable. As with the Kavalan Single Malt and Kavalan Concertmaster, the striking bottle design is inspired by Taipei 101, one of Taiwan’s most famous landmarks. In terms of flavour, this single malt was conceived as a versatile and accessible interpretation of the Kavalan Whisky style, suitable for enjoying both neat and in high-quality whisky cocktails. The combination of Taiwanese whisky-making, maturation in a subtropical climate, selected refill casks and an ABV of 40% makes the Kavalan Distillery Select No. 1 0.7 l an intriguing introduction to the world of Kavalan Whisky and, at the same time, a versatile addition to any home bar.
