Description
Mateus The Original Rosé is an internationally renowned rosé wine from Portugal, known for its distinctive style and timeless freshness. Since its launch in the 1940s, it has become a global symbol of Portuguese rosé. This wine is produced from a finely balanced blend of regional grape varieties: Baga, Rufete, Tinta Barroca and Touriga Franca. Each of these grapes contributes its own aromatic nuances and, together, they create a harmonious and refreshing taste experience.
The wine is produced using the traditional method for white wines. Fermentation takes place slowly and without contact with the skins in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 16 °C, which helps to preserve the freshness and lively fruit aromas. After cold stabilisation, the wine is gently filtered and then bottled. The entire process is carried out with great precision to preserve Mateus’s characteristic style, delicate colour and balanced freshness in every bottle. With an alcohol content of 11 % vol., this rosé is pleasantly light and versatile.
