Lussa Gin Isle of Jura is an exceptional small-batch gin from Scotland, which captures the unspoilt natural beauty of the Isle of Jura in every bottle. On this windswept island off the west coast of Scotland, every batch is carefully crafted by hand. At 42% ABV in a 0.7-litre bottle, this premium gin combines a total of 15 aromatic botanicals, most of which are grown directly on Jura or gathered from the island’s wild countryside. The result is an authentic gin with a distinct regional character and a deep connection to the landscape of its origin.


Production takes place in a traditional still, with each batch produced by hand. Many of the botanicals come from the distillery’s own gardens and greenhouses, whilst other ingredients are grown on Jura in collaboration with the island community. The key botanicals include juniper, lemon thyme, coriander, lemon balm, rose petals, rose hips, lime blossom, elderflower, honeysuckle, bog myrtle, iris root, water mint, sea lettuce and Scottish pine needles. Lemon thyme, in particular, defines the gin’s characteristic fresh citrus style. As the gin is not heavily filtered, the natural essential oils from the botanicals may appear as a fine haze in the bottle or when mixed with tonic at lower temperatures – a sign of the natural production process and the high content of botanical flavours.


The distillery also places particular emphasis on the conservation of Scottish juniper. As part of a long-term project, hundreds of juniper plants have been established on the Isle of Jura to sustainably preserve this traditional gin ingredient and enable it to be harvested directly from the island in future.
