The history of Ableforth's Bathtub Gin goes back to the time of American Prohibition, when the production of alcohol often took place under adventurous conditions. Due to the lack of legally available alcohol at the time, people resorted to low-quality or even denatured alcohol and mixed it with juniper and other spices in bathtubs at home. The herbs and spices were left in the alcohol for several days or weeks to improve its flavour and conceal its inferior quality. This gave rise to the term "Bathtub Gin".

Ableforth's Bathtub Sloe Gin is traditionally made from sloes and is flavoured with juniper, cinnamon, coriander, cloves and orange peel. This combination gives the Sloe Gin an impressively strong flavour.

This gin once again demonstrates the extensive expertise of the producer, who knows how to transform classic ingredients into a modern and flavourful product.
