In the 10th century, during the reign of King Gagik I of the Bagratuni dynasty, a luxurious residence was built on Akhtamar Island.
The name of the island is derived from the legend of Princess Tamar and her love for a handsome young Manner who drowned in Lake Van with the words "Ah, Tamar".

Charles Aznavour took part in a tasting and selected wine distillates for the blend, each of which reflects a moment in his life's work. This brandy contains wine distillates from 1956, 1960 and 1981. It matures for 25 years.
