The Shin Blended Whisky is produced in Niigata, a major Japanese port city situated at the mouth of the Shinano River. Niigata is renowned for its three ‘white treasures’ – snow, rice and sake – and is a centre of traditional Japanese craftsmanship. The name ‘Shin’ stands for integrity, a principle deeply rooted in the Samurai ethos and which forms the basis of this whisky.

This whisky is crafted from a careful selection of malt and grain whiskies, which are matured in ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks. Under the guidance of Master Distiller Ken Usami, the whiskies are blended in a special cask made from Mizunara oak, a Japanese oak variety that imparts a distinctive woody complexity and spicy aromas to the whisky. The whisky is bottled without any artificial colourings, which emphasises its natural purity and authentic quality.

The Shin Blended Whisky Mizunara Japanese Oak Finish is not only a tribute to Japanese tradition, but also a product that perfectly reflects the connection between time-honoured craftsmanship and modern production technology.
