Description
Mossburn Distillers are launching two new peated blended malt Scotch whiskies. The Caisteal Chamuis whiskies are named after a mysterious ruin on the eastern side of Knock Bay on the Isle of Skye.
Caisteal Chamuis, also known as Knock Castle or Castle Camus, was a strategic fortress that helped the Clan MacLeod secure their rule over the Sleat Peninsula on Skye. The first elements of the castle were built in the 13th century on the site of an Iron Age fort known as Dun Thorabhaig. The castle ruins visible today bear witness to its rich and eventful history.
Caisteal Chamuis Blended Malt Scotch Whisky is a blend of single malts from the Isle of Skye, sourced from the Talisker and Torabhaig distilleries. This whisky is finished in first-fill bourbon casks.
