Description
The Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve 12% Vol. in a 0.75 l bottle is one of the most renowned non-vintage champagnes from the Champagne region and embodies the exceptional signature style of the House of Champagne Charles Heidsieck. The story begins in 1851, when Charles Heidsieck, aged just 29, decided to found his own maison, thereby forging an independent path within one of France’s most prominent Champagne families. To this day, the house stands for uncompromising quality, exceptional maturity and unmistakable complexity.
Around 60 different crus are selected for the production of this iconic cuvée. Particularly influential are the Grand Cru vineyards of Oger, which lend the Chardonnay richness and generosity; Ambonnay, which provides the structure and fruitiness of the Pinot Noir; and Verneuil, whose Meunier ensures balance and smoothness. The blend consists of 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 20% Meunier. A distinctive feature of the house is the exceptionally high proportion of around 50% reserve wines, which lend the champagne depth and continuity. A small proportion of the wines is also aged in old Burgundian oak barrels. The long ageing process in the historic chalk cellars ensures the characteristic complexity that makes Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve one of the most award-winning champagnes in its category worldwide.
