The Polz Winery, situated in southern Styria, Austria, is distinguished by its ideal wine-growing location. Founded in 1896, it enjoys a reputation for producing high-quality wines, thanks to optimal climatic conditions and specific soil characteristics. Under the leadership of the fourth generation, the winery strives to preserve its heritage and continue the family tradition with a strong focus on sustainability. Responsible for the cellar and winemaking, Christoph Polz emphasises meticulous manual work and selective grape harvesting, which underscores the quality of the wines.

The Polz Urbani, a balanced cuvée made from equal parts Blaufränkisch and Cabernet Sauvignon, is characterised by its growth on a soil of shell limestone and loam. A 30-month ageing period in used barrique barrels lends the wine a pronounced depth of flavour. Sealed with a screw cap, the Urbani retains its quality and can be cellared until 2026.
