The brand was founded by Marco Savio, an Italian rum specialist whose passion for high-quality rum laid the foundations for Rum Malecon. Rum Malecon is distilled in Panama from molasses using the traditional Cuban method, employing copper column stills.

Rum Malecon Añejo 3 Carta Oro is a premium aged rum that impresses with its well-balanced maturation. This rum is aged for at least three years using the Solera method, which involves blending different batches in oak casks; this helps the flavours to develop in a unique way and gives the rum its delicate flavour profile.
