BUI Mezcal Artesanal 100% Maguey Espadín Joven pays homage to the centuries-old tradition of mezcal production in Mexico. Its name, ‘BUI’, comes from the language of the indigenous Otomí people and means ‘life’. The Otomí were the first settlers in the highlands of Mexico and have a deep connection to nature and the gifts of the agave. This artisanal mezcal embodies precisely this spiritual and cultural richness.

Made from 100 per cent Maguey Espadín (Agave angustifolia), this mezcal is produced using traditional methods. The agave hearts are roasted over hot stones in underground stone ovens, which gives rise to the characteristic smoky aromas. After a slow fermentation using natural yeasts, it is distilled in copper stills to preserve its pure and authentic character. As a ‘Joven’ (young) mezcal, it is bottled directly without barrel ageing, ensuring that the full flavours of the agave and the subtle smoky notes are preserved in their purest form. With an alcohol content of 45 % vol., it possesses a powerful intensity that connoisseurs and lovers of high-quality mezcals particularly appreciate.
