Founded in 1995 by Hans Reisetbauer, the Reisetbauer schnapps distillery has established itself in Axberg, Upper Austria. A distinctive feature of the distillery is its focus on sustainable agriculture: all the raw materials required for production are organically grown and harvested on the distillery’s own fields. The entire process, from bottling and labelling to packaging the bottles, is carried out by hand and with the utmost care. With the arrival of Hansi Junior, the company underwent a modernisation, reflected in the new design of the packaging, labels and brand name, which combines tradition and innovation.

The production of the 4X50 Finely Distilled Superior Rum, under the direction of Hans Reisetbauer, took almost ten years. This rum, 82 per cent of which is produced in-house, is matured in high-quality Ysper oak casks. The remaining 18 per cent of the rum is sourced from two Jamaican distilleries as well as selected distilleries in Guyana, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Guatemala. With a sugar content of less than 3 grams per litre and an alcohol content of 40.5 per cent, the 4X50 offers fruity and smoky flavour notes.

This ‘social rum’, a superior rum, was developed in collaboration with friends, as reflected in the name 4X50 – a number that pays tribute to four fellow enthusiasts and fifty friends.
