The Glenmorangie Distillery, founded in 1843 in the Scottish Highlands near Tain, is famous for its exquisite single malt Scotch whiskies. Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban is an exquisite single malt that derives its distinctive character from careful secondary maturation in port casks. These casks come from Quinta, a renowned Portuguese wine estate known for its high-quality port wines. The name ‘Ruban’ is derived from the Gaelic word for ruby and refers to the deep, ruby-red colour that the whisky takes on during its time in the port casks.

After the whisky has initially matured for ten years in ex-bourbon casks, it spends a further four years in these port casks, which lends it additional complexity and rich fruity notes. This method of secondary maturation not only gives Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban its characteristic colour, but also a rich, multi-layered aroma. This whisky is bottled without chill filtration.
