Description
Giacosa Fratelli Barolo Scarrone Vigna Mandorlo Riserva DOCG 2012 is an impressive, mature Barolo with an alcohol content of 14.5 per cent by volume, hailing from one of Piedmont’s most renowned vineyards: the historic Scarrone cru in the Barolo region. The single vineyard Vigna Mandorlo is synonymous with the utmost precision and expression of terroir; combined with traditional vinification, it produces a wine that displays depth, nobility and character in their most accomplished form. This wine is produced by the esteemed Giacosa Fratelli winery, which has been renowned for generations for its elegant, long-lived wines from the heart of Piedmont.
The Barolo is made exclusively from the noble Nebbiolo grape variety, which is famous for its powerful structure, refined acidity and great ageing potential. The wine was aged for several years in traditional large wooden casks, allowing it to develop its harmonious balance of spice, ripeness and mineral freshness. The natural cork closure underlines the traditional craftsmanship and ensures long-term quality. The 2012 vintage is now at the peak of its drinking maturity and still has ageing potential until around 2025, during which time it can continue to develop its delicate secondary aromas.
