The Tomintoul Distillery, situated in the Scottish Highlands within the Cairngorms National Park and named after the nearby village of Tomintoul, opened its doors in 1964 and is now owned by Angus Dundee Distillers.

Situated at an altitude of 370 metres above sea level, Tomintoul is Scotland’s second-highest distillery, surpassed only by the Braeval Distillery, which was founded in 1973. Although the majority of the 3.2 million litres of alcohol produced annually is exported to the United States for use in blends, Tomintoul regularly releases special single-cask bottlings.

Tomintoul’s Small Batch Cask Finish range is a remarkable ‘no age statement’ series, characterised by its unique finish in a variety of casks. This whisky is first matured in bourbon casks, where it develops its fundamental aromas and characteristics. It is then given its distinctive finish in Merlot wine casks, which lends it additional depth and a unique flavour profile. This combination of bourbon and Merlot wine casks creates a complex and harmonious flavour profile that delights connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike.
