The Mars Shinshu Distillery, founded in 1985 in the Japanese Alps of Nagano, is Japan’s highest-altitude whisky distillery. Situated at an altitude of 798 metres, it benefits from a cool climate and the pure spring water of Mount Komagatake – ideal conditions for whisky production. Following its reopening in 2011, the distillery gained international recognition and is now regarded as a flagship for excellent Japanese whisky.

Mars Komagatake Austrian Exclusive Shinshu Aging Whisky is a rare release, limited to just 179 bottles, which was matured for around 4 years in first-fill bourbon casks. Distilled in 2017 and bottled in 2022, this single malt develops remarkable depth and complexity through its cask maturation. Bearing cask number 3618, this extremely limited edition from Mars Komagatake is a special collector’s item for connoisseurs of high-quality single malts.
