The Kavalan SOLIST Brandy Cask is a limited-edition Taiwanese single malt whisky from the renowned Kavalan Distillery in Yilan. Selected first-fill brandy casks are used for this special bottling from the highly sought-after Kavalan Solist range, their intense cask character blending with the characteristic Kavalan distillate. Taiwan’s subtropical climate promotes a particularly intense exchange between the whisky and the cask, thereby playing a key role in the maturation process. As a single cask whisky, each bottling comes from a single cask and consequently possesses its own individual character. With a robust 55.6% ABV in the 0.7 l bottle, which comes with a gift box, this limited edition is aimed particularly at connoisseurs of expressive and cask-influenced single malts.


The Kavalan Solist Brandy Cask is bottled at cask strength and is not altered by either chill filtration or the addition of artificial colouring. It is therefore unchill-filtered and contains no added colourings. This presentation of the whisky, kept as close to its natural state as possible, is one of the defining features of the Solist range. Particularly unusual is the full maturation in first-fill brandy casks, which offers a distinctive alternative to the more familiar sherry and bourbon cask maturations.
