When absinthe was banned in France, people sought a substitute for this aniseed-based spirit. The name ‘pastis’ is therefore a combination of ‘pastís’ (mixture) and ‘pastiche’ (imitation).

The name 12/12 comes from an old term used by bowlers: each game is played to 13 points, and 12/12 corresponds to match point for both teams. The bottle cap is shaped like a bowling Kugel and can be removed.

The Pastis 12/12 de Saint Tropez is a classic French pastis. Star anise is carefully distilled in a column still. This is followed by the maceration of fresh figs, orange blossom and sweet almonds from the local area, together with various botanicals and spices. Hand-harvested plants from the Bay of Saint-Tropez are also added.
