Scapegrace BLOOD MOON ORANGE Premium Dry Gin is a fruit-forward premium dry gin from New Zealand, based on the recipe for the well-known Scapegrace Classic Gin. For the Blood Moon Edition, the classic botanical blend is enhanced with New Zealand blood oranges, fresh raspberries and makrut lime. The distillery combines both fresh and dried botanicals to harmonise the various fruit, citrus and spice notes. The base consists of twelve botanicals: juniper, coriander, nutmeg, cardamom, lemon peel, orange peel, violet root, cinnamon, cassia, angelica, cloves and liquorice. The addition of blood oranges gives this variant its characteristic citrus focus and distinctive orange-red colour.

Produced in the mountainous south of New Zealand, Scapegrace Blood Moon Orange Gin thus combines classic juniper aromas with a distinctly fruitier interpretation of the Scapegrace style. In particular, the combination of blood orange, raspberry and makrut lime creates a distinctive profile without completely overshadowing the dry gin character of the base spirit. The gin is bottled at 41.6% ABV in a 0.7-litre bottle. The distinctive bottle design is also part of Scapegrace’s identity and is inspired by historic genever bottles. The brand name ‘Scapegrace’ can be loosely translated as ‘good-for-nothing’ or ‘scoundrel’, deliberately echoing the rebellious and, at times, dark history of gin.
