Equiano Light Rum is the light, fresh variant of the multi-award-winning Equiano Rum, which is the world’s first rum to symbolise a transatlantic connection between Africa and the Caribbean. This ‘Light’ expression embodies a modern rum style with a clear, elegant structure and high standards of quality. The rum is produced from a finely balanced blend of unaged rum made from fresh sugar cane juice from Africa and a lightly aged molasses rum from the Caribbean – specifically from the renowned Foursquare Distillery in Barbados and Gray’s Distillery in Mauritius.

In contrast to the darker original version, Equiano Light aims for a lighter flavour profile – ideal for classic long drinks and modern rum cocktails. It is matured in ex-American bourbon casks, but only for a limited period, ensuring that the freshness of the ingredients remains at the forefront. With an alcohol content of 43% ABV and presented in an elegant 0.7-litre bottle, this rum makes a statement – both visually and in terms of flavour – for modern rum culture, free from additives, colourings or sugar.

As a tribute to Olaudah Equiano, whose name stands for freedom, history and heritage, this bottling combines fine craftsmanship with ethical standards and transparency throughout the entire supply chain.
