Deanston 12 Years Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky comes from the Deanston Distillery in the Scottish Highlands and is characterised by a deliberately natural whisky style. Locally sourced Scottish barley is used in its production, with Deanston relying exclusively on unpeated malt. Traditional production methods also give the distillate a characteristic, slightly waxy texture, which is considered a hallmark of the distillery. The single malt is matured for at least 12 years in oak casks before being bottled at a comparatively high strength of 46.3 per cent. This allows the whisky to retain an intense structure, combining the malt-forward Deanston style with the influences of its long cask maturation.


Deanston places particular emphasis on presenting its 12 Years Old Single Malt as naturally as possible. The whisky is not chill-filtered and is bottled without the addition of colouring, thereby preserving its natural oils, texture and the colour developed during maturation.
