Description
The Karl Inführ sparkling wine house has stood for tradition and excellence in Austrian sparkling wine production for over 100 years and is regarded as the country’s most award-winning sparkling wine producer. With a deep understanding of quality and craftsmanship, the company produces its exquisite sparkling wines using the renowned Charmat method. This method, named after its inventor Eugène Charmat, enables fermentation to take place in pressure-resistant tanks, which gives the sparkling wine a fine effervescence and consistent quality.
PetNat, short for ‘Petillant Naturel’ or ‘Méthode Rurale’, is an ancient and traditional method of producing sparkling wine. In this method, the must is transformed into sparkling wine in a single fermentation. During this fermentation, the yeast converts the sugar present into carbon dioxide and alcohol. In the controlled Charmat method, the carbon dioxide cannot escape and is elegantly integrated into the wine.
‘PetNat’ is characterised by its ability to build up controlled pressure. It is clarified by filtration to remove sediment and has a clean flavour. As a result, this sparkling wine presents no unpleasant surprises in terms of taste, appearance or the bottle opening explosively.
