The Kilchoman 100% Islay The 13th Edition 2023 Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a distinctive release from the Kilchoman Distillery and epitomises the distillery’s consistent ‘Single Farm Single Malt’ approach. This Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky was distilled from Islay-grown barley cultivated on the distillery’s own fields in 2012, 2013 and 2014. The whisky was then matured for at least 8 years before 44 ex-bourbon casks were selected for the bottling of the 13th Edition 2023. The selection comprises casks from three different ages, with the youngest cask being eight years old. This edition was bottled at 50% ABV, without chill filtration or colouring, thereby clearly preserving its original character.


It is particularly worth noting that this 100% Islay Edition is the first bottling since 2019 to have been matured exclusively in bourbon casks. The focus on predominantly fresh bourbon casks gives the whisky a distinct structure and emphasises Kilchoman’s clear, agricultural style. From the barley field through malting, distillation and maturation right through to bottling, this 100% Islay whisky remains entirely on the island and only leaves Islay as a finished bottling.
