The Stauning RYE El Clásico Vermouth Casks Danish Whisky 45.7% ABV 0.7 l is an exceptional Danish rye whisky from the renowned Stauning Distillery, which is based on Denmark’s windswept west coast. The distillery is regarded as one of the most innovative producers in the field of European craft whisky, combining traditional craftsmanship with creative ideas. The Stauning RYE El Clásico Danish Whisky forms part of the distillery’s experimental Research Series and represents an exciting fusion of Scandinavian whisky tradition and Mediterranean aromatics. This rye whisky is made from locally grown Danish rye and barley, which are traditionally malted in-house on malting floors at the distillery. This is followed by double distillation in 24 small, directly-fired copper pot stills, resulting in a particularly aromatic and complex whisky.


Maturation begins in new American white oak casks, before the whisky undergoes a special finish in Spanish vermouth casks. This unusual combination of casks pays homage to the classic pairing of rye whisky and sweet vermouth, familiar from the famous Manhattan cocktail. The result is a multi-layered Stauning Rye Whisky that strikes a balance between spicy rye notes, sweet fruitiness and subtle herbal accents. The Stauning RYE El Clásico Vermouth Casks Danish Whisky is bottled at 45.7% ABV, is non-chill-filtered and unfiltered, ensuring that its natural structure and aromatic richness are fully preserved. The striking bottle label features a demonic bull, designed by tattoo artist Thit Hansgaard, and emphasises the powerful character of this bottling.
