Description
Champagne Taittinger is a world-renowned champagne house that has been family-owned since 1734. This champagne house owns 260 hectares of vineyards. The house is situated in Saint-Nicaise in Rems, where the champagnes mature in chalk cellars 18 metres below ground. These cellars date back to Roman times.
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimum ripeness and pressed whole, very carefully, on site, before being fermented in stainless-steel tanks. The rosé champagne matures on its fine lees for four years in the cool, deep, dark chalk cellars. Through regular shaking and turning of the bottle (until it is finally standing on its head), the sediment gradually slides down into the neck of the bottle. This is followed by disgorgement to remove the lees.
