Description
The Tres Hombres La Palma Suave 17 Años – Old Edition 63 (2023) is an outstanding rum, produced on the Canary Island of La Palma with great care and using traditional methods. At the renowned Aldea distillery, run by the Quevedo family, this Ron Tradicional is crafted from pure ‘guarapo’ – fresh sugarcane juice extracted from the finest local harvests. Distillation takes place in a historic copper still over an open wood fire – a particularly gentle and technically demanding method that gives the rum its authentic, natural character.
After distillation, La Palma Suave is aged for 17 years on the island, initially in ex-bourbon casks. It then receives a complex finish in selected Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and Pineau des Charentes casks. This combination creates an impressive aromatic depth with fruity, spicy and sweet notes.
Another unique selling point: in the true spirit of sustainability, the rum is transported to Europe without the use of mechanical power, aboard the Tres Hombres sailing ships. This method of transport is unique worldwide and lends every bottle additional value and character. Edition 63 is strictly limited to just 2,086 bottles and is hand-bottled and numbered – a true collector’s item for connoisseurs and enthusiasts.
