Rum and honey are a particularly valued combination in the Canary Islands.

For the smooth and sweet honey rum from the Aldea distillery on La Palma, sugar cane is grown without the use of artificial fertilisers or pesticides.

After an initial maturation period of six months on the island, the rum was picked up by the sailing freighter Tres Hombres in 2022 and transported in Calvados barrels. Six months later, the ship reached Amsterdam, and the rum had time to develop a distinctive finish during the crossing, reflecting the characteristic "Tres Hombres" style. The constant movement of the ship at sea intensified the interaction of the rum with the Calvados casks, resulting in an intensification of the flavour and a memorable aftertaste.

The bottle labels are adorned with motifs of the Tres Hombres and their adventurous voyages. The bottles are sealed with natural corks and sealed with beeswax.

This wax is enriched with colour pigments ground from natural materials in a traditional windmill in Zaandam, giving the bottles an authentic and environmentally friendly finish.
