The Daftmill Lowland Single Malt Summer Batch Release 2011 is a Lowland single malt Scotch whisky from the small Daftmill Distillery in Fife, Scotland. This family-run farm distillery occupies a special place within the Scottish whisky landscape, as whisky production is integrated into the annual agricultural cycle. Distillation takes place mainly during quieter periods between the labour-intensive phases on the farm. Whisky distilled in 2011 was used for this Summer Batch Release. Daftmill relies on barley grown on its own land for its production, thereby directly linking agriculture and whisky-making.
