Douglas Laing Big Peat The THROPAIGEACH Edition, which means "tropical" in Gaelic, is the special bottling for 2024, released to mark Fèis Ìle, the annual Islay Festival. This limited edition is matured in selected ex-rum casks, which gives the traditional Islay malt a strong but also tropical flavour.

The Fèis Ìle, also known as the Islay Festival, attracts whisky lovers from all over the world. It is an annual celebration of the whisky produced on the island and the local culture. During the festival, distilleries open their doors, offer special tastings and events and release unique bottle editions.

The design of this bottling is unique: Big Peat appears in pirate style, matching the Caribbean rum casks in which the whisky was matured. The bottle label shows Big Peat surrounded by palm trees, parrots and swords, all in bright yellow tones that emphasise the tropical theme.
