Flor de Caña, a rum steeped in tradition and family-owned since 1890, is produced sustainably. In 1875, the young adventurer Alfredo Francisco Pellas Canessa left his hometown of Genoa, Italy, and set off for Nicaragua. There, at the foot of the San Cristóbal volcano – Nicaragua’s highest and most active volcano – he discovered the perfect location for his distillery.

The fertile soil, mineral-rich water and the volcano’s hot climate gave the rum its unique, mellow flavour. Today, Flor de Caña is committed to sustainability and Fairtrade-certified spirits, and is dedicated to a greener future.

Flor de Caña Volcanic Bourbon Cask is a premium rum produced in a carbon-neutral and fair-trade manner. It is aged in ex-bourbon casks made from American white oak at the foot of the San Cristóbal volcano, which gives the rum its unique flavour. Flor de Caña completely avoids the addition of sweeteners in order to preserve the rum’s natural purity and quality.
