Flor de Caña, a rum steeped in tradition and family-owned since 1890, is produced sustainably. In 1875, the young adventurer Alfredo Francisco Pellas Canessa left his hometown of Genoa, Italy, and set off for Nicaragua. There, at the foot of the San Cristóbal volcano – Nicaragua’s highest and most active volcano – he discovered the perfect location for his distillery.

The fertile soil, mineral-rich water and the volcano’s hot climate gave the rum its unique, mellow flavour. Today, Flor de Caña is committed to sustainability and Fairtrade-certified spirits, and is dedicated to a greener future.

This exceptional rum is distilled entirely using renewable energy and matures naturally. It is aged for 19 years in small casks made from American ex-bourbon oak, which, combined with the unique environment, gives it its distinctive character.
