Johann Kattus G.m.b.H., founded in 1857, is the oldest family-run sparkling wine cellar in Vienna and stands for a combination of the highest quality, traditional values, environmentally friendly production methods and innovative passion. In the historic cellars of Johann Kattus, selected raw materials undergo a maturation process lasting up to four years. This long maturation period promotes the development of complex and balanced flavours that make the sparkling wines stand out.

Kattus No. 1 illustrates the marriage of exquisite Welschriesling from the finest vineyards around Poysdorf with hand-picked Riesling from the sunny terraces of Vienna's Nussberg. This carefully selected blend gives the sparkling wine a characteristic freshness, deep fruity flavours and an elegant structure.
