Since 1635, when Andrea Bottega began cultivating vines in the hills near Refrontolo, the Bottega family has continued to grow. After farming their own land, Aldo Bottega revolutionised grappa production by introducing the first single-varietal grappa. The Distilleria Bottega, which he founded in 1977, is now housed in a renovated 17th-century farmhouse in Bibano di Godega di Sant’Urbano, surrounded by 10 hectares of vineyards.

Grappa is one of Italy’s oldest and most traditional drinks and is produced as a pomace spirit from the residue of previously pressed grapes. Grappa Fumè embodies this tradition and, with its appearance, symbolises this exquisite spirit at the very moment of its creation. Produced from the elegant Glera grape, which also forms the basis for Prosecco, this grappa undergoes a three-stage distillation process.

The Grappa Fumè is then aged for 12 months in oak barrels, which not only gives it its intense aromas but also its characteristic amber lustre.
