The 1423 S.B.S AUSTRALIA KLK Single Origin Rum 2023 is part of the S.B.S Origin Selection from the independent bottler 1423 World Class Spirits. The range comprises hand-selected white rums, the brands of which are already familiar in their matured form from the S.B.S Single Barrel Selection. With the Origin Selection, however, these characterful distillates are presented in a particularly authentic, unaged form. This bottling originates from Australia and bears the KLK label. The rum is traditionally distilled in pot stills, resulting in a particularly aromatic and expressive character. The term ‘Single Origin’ refers to its clearly defined provenance and should not be confused with ‘Single Cask’.

The S.B.S Australia KLK 2023 is bottled at a robust 57 per cent in a 0.7-litre bottle and deliberately highlights the intense aromas of the Australian pot-still distillate. It is precisely these pronounced ester aromas that are among the characteristic features of this bottling, lending it a strikingly fruity and so-called ‘funky’ style. Unlike cask-aged S.B.S bottlings, the focus here is not on the influence of oak, but on the distillate’s original character. This makes the S.B.S Origin Selection Australia KLK ideal both for experienced rum connoisseurs who wish to compare different rum brands in their purest form, and for sophisticated cocktail creations where a powerful pot still rum from Australia is required.
