Description
Antica Distilleria Domenico Sibona S.p.A. is situated in the heart of Piedmont, more specifically in Piobesi d’Alba, right in the centre of the region where some of Piedmont’s finest wines originate. It is one of the oldest and most traditional distilleries in Piedmont, which gives it a special status within Italian distilling culture.
Owing to this long tradition and its historical significance, Sibona holds the prestigious ‘Licenza di Distillazione No. 1’. This rare distilling licence is awarded by the Italian tax authorities only to distilleries that stand out for their exceptional history and consistent quality. Distilleria Sibona thus embodies not only artisanal excellence but also the legacy of a centuries-old tradition that lives on in the production of top-quality products.
Grappa 8 Anni is an exceptional grappa produced from the distillation of pomace derived from grapes used in the production of Barolo wine. Following an initial period of ageing in steel tanks, the grappa matures for eight years in oak casks and barriques. This lengthy ageing process lends it a particular smoothness and complexity, allowing unique and elegant aromas to unfold.
The combination of the quality of the Barolo grapes and the careful ageing process ensures an unmistakable character. With its nuanced and harmonious bouquet, it is excellent as a meditation grappa, ideal for enjoying in quiet moments and savouring its full complexity.
